Before you head on up and over the hill to yet another appointment in Santa Barbara, know this…as a Santa Ynez Valley resident myself, I’ve got you covered! Why leave the valley when I can come to you? π
From Santa Ynez to Solvang, Los Olivos, Buellton, Ballard and yes, even Los Alamos – now’s the perfect time to find the type of quality, in-home lactation care you and little one deserves.
So, how does it work?
What to expect during your in-home lactation consultation?
Understanding what to expect can help you better prepare for our visit before I arrive. Here is a brief overview of some of the things we will cover while we’re together during our lactation consultation.
Share Your Story, Concerns, & Goals

How Do I Book A Lactation Consultation?
Booking your lactation consultation with me is simple! You can either click here to fill out my contact form or reach out to me directly via text (also found on my contact form) and I will get back to you within 24 hours to schedule our visit together.
Have a question first? No problem! Go ahead and fill out the same form or text me with any questions you have or if you’d like to set up a quick phone chat.
Will Insurance Cover My Lactation Consultation?
I wish I could say, absolutely! The reality though is that your coverage for lactation consultations may vary widely depending on the type of insurance plan you have.
While the Affordable Care Act (ACA) does mandate that health insurance plans cover breastfeeding support, counseling, and equipment for the duration of breastfeeding, we, as IBCLC lactation consultants, are still in a constant fight to expand lactation care coverage and bring breastfeeding support to more parents.
Don’t fret though! Your lactation consultation could still be 100% covered at no cost to you. I’m currently partnered with The Lactation Network (TLN) to help offer free breastfeeding support to families of the Santa Ynez Valley!
How to check my insurance coverage?
Whether you have Aetna, United Health Care, Sutter Health, insurance cards with βMultiPlanβ or “PNOA” on them, or more – you could be approved for up to six, fully-covered lactation visits with absolutely ZERO out-of-pocket cost to you!
Let’s get the process started by filling out my “Request a Lactation Consultation” form through TLN with your name, contact information, address, and some supplemental information, including your preferred type of visit (in-home or telehealth), the urgency of your visit, and see if you’re approved!
Lactation consultation not covered? I can provide a superbill
Didn’t get approved? I’m so sorry to hear that, but not all is necessarily lost. I can always provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. It’s important to note through that you should reach out directly to your insurance provider regarding their policies or with any questions you may have as I cannot guarantee any sort of reimbursement.
Of course, please me let me know if you have any additional questions for me. I am more than happy to assist you along your breastfeeding journey in any way I can!
